Mission Hills was established in the early 1900's as America's first and foremost garden community. Pioneered by urban planner J.C. Nichols and designed by landscape architect Herbert Hare, this exclusive Kansas City bedroom community was the first planned suburb in Johnson County.
Uprooting the idea that Kansas is just a place for farmers, the Mission Hills real estate development transformed midwest farmland into a stylish upscale garden community patterned on the rural villages in the UK.
